Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud.

According to a statement issued by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion focused on bilateral cooperation relations and steps to further strengthen these ties.

The two sides also reviewed the ongoing mediation efforts between the United States and Iran. Increasing coordination on initiatives aimed at reducing tensions in order to enhance regional security and stability was also discussed.

Al-Thani stressed the importance of all parties adopting a positive approach toward the ongoing mediation efforts to ensure their success.

He added that addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue would help prevent a new escalation in the region and pave the way for a lasting agreement.
