Canberra, March 26 (Hibya) - Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that new legislation aimed at preventing excessive increases in fuel prices has been passed by Parliament.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made a statement regarding rising fuel prices and newly enacted measures to protect consumers.
Albanese stated that market oversight will be tightened, saying: "The new laws we introduced to prevent excessive increases in gasoline prices have passed Parliament. We are doubling the penalties for companies that do wrong."
Emphasizing his determination to protect consumer rights, Prime Minister Albanese said: "Because there is no justification for increasing profits at the expense of Australians."
