Asian markets rise despite renewed AI concerns
Istanbul, February 18 (Hibya) - Asian markets rose on Wednesday despite a renewed increase in artificial intelligence concerns that have gripped international markets.
Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 climbed 0.93 percent to 57,090.14 points, preparing for a recovery after three days of losses, while Australia’s S&P/ASX200 index gained 0.5 percent.
Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea markets were closed due to Lunar New Year holidays.
The positive start in Asia followed a subdued session on Wall Street on Tuesday, as investors grappled with the outlook for the artificial intelligence boom.
Concerns that companies are overinvesting and worries about how much the emerging technology could affect labor markets have heightened investor unease in recent weeks.
