Baqaei: No political interest can ever justify the killing of children
Tehran, June 4 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei drew attention to the plight of children who have lost their lives in conflict zones in a message issued on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression on June 4.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei stressed that targeting children in global conflicts and military operations can never be acceptable under any circumstances.
Referring to the humanitarian dimension of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, Baqaei said: "June 4, the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, is a day when the human conscience must confront a painful question: For what crime are innocent children being killed?"
Stating that children are victims of war, Baqaei said: "Today, we honor the memory of children who were destined to dream, be happy, study, and build the future, but became victims of war crimes, occupation, and bombardment before they even had the chance to know life."
Pointing to the loss of life in different regions, Baqaei concluded his message with the following words: "From Gaza and the West Bank to Beirut, Minab, Lamerd, Tehran, and many places across Iran and the world, wherever children are killed under the bombs and missiles of the United States and the Israeli regime, the truth is the same: No military objective, no political interest, and no security justification can ever legitimize the killing of children."
