In a statement, the ministry noted that armed conflicts do not affect all civilians in the same way and that children, women, and other vulnerable groups face specific risks and needs.
The statement added that today's conference discussed how civilians could be protected more effectively within the framework of the Fourth Geneva Convention, one of the fundamental texts of international humanitarian law.
