Budrys: Russia is using the shadow fleet against us
Vilnius, May 16 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys stated that Russia is using its shadow fleet as a weapon against the Baltic Sea countries.
Budrys emphasized that Russia is using the shadow fleet as a threat to the Baltic states.
He said that Russia must understand this will not go unpunished, adding: “Today, with my counterparts from the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), we discussed a wide range of security threats falling under NATO’s Article 4 but not directly military, and the need to restructure the alliance to face these new threats.”
Budrys noted that the recent incident involving a shadow fleet vessel clearly shows that coordinated action is now unavoidable.
