European markets open lower as Airbus and Renault earnings assessed
Istanbul, February 19 (Hibya) - European markets opened lower on Thursday as investors assessed earnings from Airbus, Renault and Nestle.
The regional Stoxx 600 traded slightly below the flatline after the open. The U.K.’s FTSE 100 fell 0.2%, while Germany’s DAX and France’s CAC 40 declined 0.3%.
Companies including Nestle, Rio Tinto, Zurich Insurance and Renault reported earnings.
Airbus said it expects to deliver 870 commercial aircraft in 2026.
Renault’s 2025 revenue rose 3% to 57.9 billion euros, but net income dropped significantly.
Nestle’s 2025 sales fell 2%, and net profit declined 17%.
The Swiss company is in advanced talks to sell its ice cream business to Froneri.
