Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a statement after the anxious ordeal experienced by the plane passengers came to an end.

Herzog said, “Hours of anxiety ended with extraordinary heroism and a great miracle.”

Sending strength and support to the passengers, Herzog said, “I send strength and support to the passengers on the plane who are on their way back to Israel. I thank the heroes who showed great courage at critical moments.”

Herzog also thanked the United Arab Emirates, saying, “We thank our partners in the United Arab Emirates who are fighting terrorism together with us and other countries in the region. We cannot allow terrorism to destabilize our region.”
