Irish Foreign Minister Harris meets with EU Trade Commissioner Sefcovic
Dublin, April 2 (Hibya) – Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Defence, and Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris met with European Union (EU) Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic.
During the meeting, Harris and Sefcovic discussed the tariffs expected from the United States and their implications for EU–US trade.
Harris outlined Ireland’s views in detail and shared his recent engagements with European counterparts.
Commissioner Sefcovic informed Harris about the ongoing work at EU level to respond to the anticipated announcement of US tariffs in the coming hours.
The two emphasized the importance of the European Union during this critical time and discussed the shared need for negotiations to find a path forward.
