Lahbib: EU is deploying three firefighting aircraft to France
Brussels, July 23 (Hibya) – European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib announced that, following France's activation of the European Union (EU) Civil Protection Mechanism, the EU has deployed three rescEU firefighting aircraft to support efforts to combat the wildfires in Gironde.
European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib expressed her support for those affected by the wildfires in France's Gironde region and for the firefighters working on the ground.
Lahbib stated that, after France activated the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the European Union provided assistance by dispatching three firefighting aircraft from the rescEU fleet to support wildfire suppression operations.
