Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar traveled to New York to participate in programs to be held from September 21 to 25 as part of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dar will attend the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir during the High-Level Week. Dar is expected to emphasize Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination at the meeting.

Dar will also participate in the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Annual Coordination Meeting as well as various OIC ministerial meetings and contact group meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Dar is also scheduled to take part in several high-level meetings concerning Pakistan’s position on Palestine, including the meeting of the G8 Arab-Islamic countries and the High-Level Ministerial Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.

Dar will deliver remarks at the United Nations Security Council’s high-level briefing on artificial intelligence. He will also attend the High-Level Meeting on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response and will chair the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of Ministers Meeting.

It was reported that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar will accompany Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during high-level bilateral meetings and engagements, while also holding bilateral talks with his counterparts from various countries.

Dar’s meetings are expected to address Pakistan’s efforts for regional and international peace and stability, as well as regional and international issues.
