Putin: Russia-ASEAN cooperation contributes to regional stability
Kazan, June 18 (Hibya) - Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during the first plenary session of the Russia-ASEAN Summit that cooperation strengthens stability in the Asia-Pacific region and that the strategic partnership continues to expand.
Putin delivered remarks at the first plenary session of the Russia-ASEAN Summit held in Kazan.
He said that the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) enjoys a respected position not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also globally.
Putin noted that Russia-ASEAN relations are developing on the basis of international law and mutual interests. He stated that this partnership contributes to regional stability and supports the formation of a balanced security architecture.
He also said that over the past 35 years, Russia and ASEAN have built a comprehensive framework for cooperation, developed new dialogue platforms, and expanded relations in areas such as trade, investment, energy, agriculture, digitalization, science, technology, and tourism.
The Russian president expressed hope that constructive dialogue and productive cooperation would continue in the future.
