Qatar reiterates support for Sudan's unity and territorial integrity
Doha, September 7 (Hibya) - Qatar reaffirmed its support for Sudan's unity and territorial integrity while expressing concern over the ongoing armed conflict in the country.
The State of Qatar reaffirmed its support for Sudan's unity and territorial integrity, as well as the Sudanese people's right to a dignified life, security and stability.
According to a statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Hind Abdulrahman Al Muftah, Qatar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, shared her country's assessments during the interactive dialogue on Sudan held as part of the 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Al Muftah expressed deep concern over the ongoing armed conflict in Sudan, which she said had caused unprecedented suffering for the Sudanese people.
Condemning all violations committed in the context of the armed conflict in Sudan, Al Muftah emphasized the importance of complying with the rules of international humanitarian law, which prohibit targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure during armed conflicts.
