Russian President Putin speaks with Kazakh President Tokayev
Moscow, September 21 (Hibya) – Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Tokayev congratulated Putin on the holding of elections to Russia’s State Duma.
Kazakh President Tokayev and Russian President Putin held a telephone conversation.
According to a statement from the Kremlin, Tokayev congratulated Putin on the holding of elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly. Tokayev said the election results demonstrated broad support for Putin’s strategic policies aimed at protecting the long-term interests of the Russian state.
The leaders discussed issues on the bilateral agenda between the two countries as well as cooperation in Eurasia. They also discussed preparations for the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which is scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan in early October.
Putin and Tokayev reaffirmed their commitment to further developing the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.
