Saar: The system must undergo deep reform
Jerusalem, May 27 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said following the Zvika Gandleman case that the judicial system must undergo deep reform.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated, following the court’s annulment of the conviction in the case against Hadera Mayor Zvika Gandleman, that Gandleman had gone through an unjust process for eight years.
Saar said that the prosecution had stepped back from serious charges, adding that the developments revealed the need for reform in Israel’s judicial and prosecutorial systems.
Saar also emphasized the need to strengthen oversight mechanisms for the prosecution, saying that “a system that targets the best must undergo deep reform.”
