Syria condemns Israeli activities in Quneitra and Daraa
Damascus, October 18 (Hibya) - Syria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reported an increase in attacks by Israeli forces in rural areas of Quneitra and Daraa, as well as intensified aerial activity over southern Syria, describing these actions as violations of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Syria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the increase in attacks by Israeli forces on rural areas of Quneitra and Daraa governorates in recent days.
In its statement dated October 18, 2026, the ministry said that intensified helicopter, reconnaissance aircraft and fighter jet flights over southern Syria violated the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity and threatened the safety of its citizens.
The statement noted that the continuation of these violations undermined prospects for achieving security and stability in Syria and the wider region, while obstructing the country's reconstruction and recovery efforts.
The ministry called on the international community to assume responsibility for ending these activities and ensuring Israel's compliance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. The statement also emphasized the need to prevent further escalation in the region and establish the conditions necessary for lasting security and stability.
