UAE Defense Ministry announces 131 UAVs neutralized
Abu Dhabi, March 5 (Hibya) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defense announced that air defense systems destroyed numerous missiles and UAVs, but 94 people, including a Turkish citizen, were injured and three people were killed due to falling munitions.
The UAE Ministry of Defense shared details of the defense operations carried out against attacks launched by Iran, along with the resulting toll.
The ministry stated that the air defense systems operated with a high success rate, but civilian casualties still occurred.
The statement included the following remarks:
“Since the beginning of Iran’s openly displayed aggression, 196 ballistic missiles have been detected; 181 of them were destroyed, 13 fell into the sea, and 2 landed on the country’s territory. In addition, 1,072 Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles were detected; 1,001 were intercepted, while 71 landed on the country’s territory. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed. As a result of these attacks, three people of Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationality were killed, while 94 people of Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian and Turkish nationality were lightly injured.”
