Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: At least 7 killed and 15 injured in Druzhkivka
Kyiv, February 4 (Hibya) – The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced that Russian forces targeted a marketplace in Druzhkivka, in the Donetsk region, with bombs; at least 7 civilians were killed and 15 people were injured in the attack.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry issued a statement regarding Russia’s attack on civilians in the city of Druzhkivka, Donetsk region.
The statement emphasized that the attack targeted civilians and drew attention to the munitions used: “In the attack carried out by Russia with cluster munitions on a crowded market in Druzhkivka, Donetsk region, at least 7 people were killed and 15 were injured. The attack took place around midday, at a time when the market was crowded. Russian forces used the Smerch multiple launch rocket system with cluster munitions, weapons designed to cause maximum harm to civilians.”
Calling on the international community to increase pressure, the ministry stated that Russia must face stronger international pressure and noted that Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense to stop these attacks.
