U.S. dollar gains value in global markets
Washington, March 26 (Hibya) - In international foreign exchange markets, the U.S. dollar started the second half of the week stronger against major currencies.
According to CCTV, the dollar index, which measures the value of the dollar against six major currencies, rose 0.18 percent late on Wednesday to 99.614.
According to official data, in New York trading the euro was traded at $1.1578, while the British pound was traded at $1.3382. The U.S. dollar rose to 159.28 against the Japanese yen and also climbed to 1.3808 against the Canadian dollar.
Against the Swiss franc and the Swedish krona, the dollar posted a limited decline, ending the day at 0.791 against the franc and 9.332 against the krona.
