U.S. President Donald J. Trump met with Honduran President Nasry “Tito” Asfura, during which cooperation between the two countries was discussed.

Trump noted that the talks addressed joint efforts in the field of security, including the fight against cartels and drug trafficking, as well as combating irregular migration and gang activities. Investment and trade issues were also on the agenda.

The statement said that President Asfura is focused on the health, education, welfare, and economic development of the Honduran people, and noted that Trump plans to host Asfura again in the United States in the future. Trump also congratulated the Honduran president on his electoral success.
