Brussels, June 30 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen congratulated the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, on the successful completion of Cyprus' Presidency.

Highlighting Cyprus' contribution to the EU agenda, von der Leyen said: "Congratulations and thank you, dear Nikos Christodoulides. Cyprus' Presidency was a real success. You advanced our EU agenda, from competitiveness to enlargement."
Pointing to Cyprus' role in regional diplomacy, von der Leyen concluded:
"Beyond Europe, you built bridges with our partners in the Middle East at a critical moment."
