Von der Leyen: The goal is in sight
Brussels, September 30 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she began her Western Balkans tour in Albania, highlighting the importance of reforms as the country pursues its goal of European Union membership.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that she had begun her Western Balkans tour in Albania.
Referring to the work of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, von der Leyen said, “Dear Edi Rama, you are working hard to turn Albania’s European dream into reality.”
Emphasizing the importance of Albania focusing on reforms in its European Union accession process, von der Leyen said, “Focusing on reforms, from the judiciary to the environment, while maintaining a strong dialogue with society, is key.”
Von der Leyen said Albania’s goal was within reach, adding, “The goal is in sight. This is how we will get there.”
