Abiy Ahmed: Victories prove Ethiopia is advancing with resilience against all challenges
Addis Ababa, September 6 (Hibya) - Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali highlighted the steps the country has taken in economic independence, food security and industrialization in his message marking “Breakthrough Day.”
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali said that the transition from importing wheat to becoming one of Africa’s leading producers has saved millions of dollars, adding that economic reforms are continuing.
Abiy Ahmed said Ethiopia had paid a heavy price in the past to defend its borders, while today the country is building an economic structure free from dependency.
Noting that the shift from wheat imports to becoming one of Africa’s leading producers has saved millions of dollars, Abiy Ahmed said the “Yelemat Trufat” and “Made in Ethiopia” initiatives have strengthened food security, expanded industry and created jobs.
Abiy Ahmed said: “These victories prove that Ethiopia is advancing with resilience in the face of internal and external challenges and holds great hope for the coming year.”
