Aliyev speaks with Turkish President Erdoğan and congratulates Iran’s leader Khamenei
Baku, March 9 (Hibya) – President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the rocket attack and conveyed his support, while also congratulating Iran’s new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 9. Aliyev condemned the rocket attack targeting Turkish territory and expressed support for the brotherly Turkish people. President Erdoğan thanked Aliyev for the phone call and his stance.
On the same day, Aliyev congratulated the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, on his election to the post. Aliyev also conveyed his condolences over the death of his predecessor Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and emphasized cooperation to develop friendly and neighborly relations between the two countries.
In his congratulatory message, Aliyev also expressed wishes for peace and security for the Iranian people.
