Axios: Democrats launch campaign to remove Musk by June
Washington, April 10 (Hibya) – According to intelligence from the news portal Axios, a group of House Democrats has launched a coordinated campaign to force Elon Musk out of the Trump administration by May 30.
The effort is based on a legal requirement that special government employees (a title Musk received while managing DOGE) may not serve for more than 130 days.
In a letter to President Trump, 77 House Democrats wrote, “We demand an immediate public statement from your administration clearly stating that Musk will resign by May 30 in accordance with the law and transfer all decision-making authority.”
The letter also stated that Musk cannot return as a special government employee for a year unless he steps away from his companies, including Tesla and SpaceX.
Greg Casar, head of the Congressional Progressive Caucus who led the letter, told Axios this is merely an opening salvo.
