Defense agreement between Ukraine and Qatar
Doha, March 28 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The leaders discussed the work of the Ukrainian team in Qatar and its initial results, as well as how to further ensure the safety of lives in both countries, and agreed on a mutually beneficial partnership in the defense sector lasting at least 10 years.
Zelensky provided information about the situation in Ukraine and how Ukrainians continue to resist despite ongoing Russian attacks.
The Emir of Qatar, Al Thani, expressed hope that in the next meeting, both the Russia-Ukraine war and the conflicts in the Middle East and the Gulf region would end as soon as possible.
Following the meeting, the Chiefs of General Staff of Ukraine and Qatar signed a 10-year intergovernmental cooperation agreement in the defense sector. Key areas of cooperation include the development of defense industries and technologies, air defense, countering unmanned aerial vehicles, military training, exchange of experience, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and control systems.
