Guterres calls for ensuring journalists' safety
New York, November 2 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the protection of journalists on the occasion of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres highlighted the dangers faced by journalists on November 2, the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists.
In a post on his social media account, Guterres stated, "Journalists continue to pay a heavy price for telling the truth."
Emphasizing the importance of protecting journalists so they can safely carry out their essential duties, Guterres stressed that crimes against journalists must not go unpunished.
