Iraq: Oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz declined
Baghdad, May 17 (Hibya) - Iraqi Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Hudhair announced that Iraq’s oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz fell from approximately 93 million barrels in April to 10 million barrels due to regional conflicts.
According to CCTV, Hudhair stated that oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz had declined and noted that the government is focusing on cooperation with foreign companies to increase production capacity and improve infrastructure in the oil sector.
Hudhair said that Iraq would increase oil shipments to Türkiye through the Kirkuk-Ceyhan Pipeline and added that talks would be held with OPEC on increasing production capacity, with a target of producing 5 million barrels per day.
