Khamenei: The strength of our people will enable us to defeat our enemy
Tehran, March 12 (Hibya) - Iran’s Supreme Religious Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei called for unity in his first statement after being chosen as leader, stating that within the framework of this war there must be complete unity socially, culturally and in terms of security.
The main points from the speech of Iran’s Supreme Religious Leader Ayatollah Khamenei are as follows:
"Although we have been attacked from U.S. bases located in neighboring countries, Allah will protect us and we have prevented attempts to divide us.
After the martyrdom of the leader, I would like to thank the entire Iranian people and everyone in the Muslim world for their support.
I want to address the Iranian people; they clearly demonstrated their support. I saw everything on Iranian radio and television, and I also saw the results of the Assembly of Experts vote.
We believe in friendship with our neighbors. The targets we have taken are only American bases and our attacks against them will continue.
Of course, both during this transitional period and for the future of the country, the killing of a leader always brings responsibility. The bond between us has always been very strong. The relationship between leadership and the people has always been very strong. Khamenei has always been deeply committed to state policy and had very clear views on understanding the Islamic Republic.
Iran will not hesitate to take revenge for its martyrs. It will not hesitate to avenge the blood of its martyrs.
Our enemies tried very hard to strike the people. The Assembly of Experts tried to prevent this before selecting a religious leader. Now I am here, and the Iranian people have shown the whole world how great a nation they are.
We must defeat our enemies. The strength of our people will enable us to defeat the enemy. We must put all our disagreements behind us and, by bringing together the great strength and leadership of the Iranian people, achieve full unity socially, culturally and in terms of security within the framework of this war.
It is vital that all institutions continue to work and provide services without interruption in order to ensure all necessary services for the people, so that the resistance can continue and we can defeat the enemy.
When we look at the Strait of Hormuz and other fronts, the enemy’s experience is not sufficient to defeat us. We will continue our efforts and maintain the conditions at these points.
The resistance front is also an inseparable part of the values of the Islamic Revolution. The Islamic Revolution has its own values. The resistance front is deeply committed to these principles, and only in this way will the struggle against the Zionist regime continue.
Likewise, the resistance front in Yemen will fulfill its duty. They, as well as the people of Iraq, want to help us and stand alongside the Islamic Revolution.
We believe that all our martyrs are now in a much better place and continue to walk on the same path.
We must also fulfill the duty that Almighty Allah has given us. If necessary, we must sacrifice our lives for our country. We must patiently fulfill the duty that Allah has given us. We will never step back.
We will avenge the spilled blood of our martyrs. The blood of Iranians is very precious. But above all, the blood of women and children is very precious. Therefore, the enemy will pay a very heavy price for the crimes it committed at Minap School and in other places.
Under all circumstances the enemy will pay the price. We will take revenge. We will destroy their facilities and destroy them to the value of the compensation we require.
We have very good relations with our fifteen neighboring countries and we have always supported further developing these relations. However, the enemy used the bases it established in some countries to attack us. We had warned them before. We said that if we did not target these bases, the enemy would continue its attacks.
For this reason, in order to protect the interests of our country and our people, we continue to target the enemy’s bases. However, we still maintain friendly relations with our neighbors. What I want to tell them is that the operations from these bases must be stopped immediately.
Those who cooperate with them and follow the same line must clearly understand this: the Iranian regime is not a colonial regime. This is a country and a system that is united, wants to establish good relations with its neighbors and aims to develop these relations."
