Lahbib: Perpetrators of Sudan airstrike must be held accountable
Brussels, October 5 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said the driver of a World Food Programme aid vehicle was killed in an airstrike in Sudan’s South Kordofan region and called for an urgent investigation into the attack.
EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said a World Food Programme vehicle carrying life-saving food aid was hit by an airstrike in Sudan’s South Kordofan region.
Lahbib said the driver of the vehicle was killed in the attack, adding, “An urgent investigation is needed to identify the perpetrators. For international humanitarian law to be genuinely upheld, those who violate it must be held accountable.”
