Leyen: The EU provides 100 million euros in humanitarian support to Lebanon
Brussels, March 11 (Hibya) - President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen emphasized after her meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun that Europe stands in solidarity with Lebanon and its people.
Von der Leyen stated that the EU has provided humanitarian aid worth 100 million euros to Lebanon.
Von der Leyen announced that more than 40 tons of humanitarian aid supplies were delivered yesterday and that additional humanitarian aid flights will be organized in the coming period. She also welcomed the Lebanese government's decision to ban all military activities of Hezbollah and its call for an end to the conflicts.
President of the European Commission Leyen said, “We need to ensure a sovereign and stable country for the people of Lebanon.”
