Macron: Digital communication secured using DNA
Paris, April 1 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron made a statement regarding a scientific study aimed at ensuring the security of digital communication using DNA.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that researchers from ESPCI Paris PSL, CNRS, Université de Limoges, IMT Atlantique and LIMMS succeeded in securing digital communication using DNA keys.
Macron explained that within the scope of the study, a document was fully encrypted using DNA and later decrypted again via DNA, saying: “A document was completely encrypted using DNA and then decrypted again using DNA.”
Macron noted that this achievement offers new possibilities for protecting sensitive telecommunications, stating: “This advancement is an important step at the intersection of telecommunications security and biotechnology.”
Pointing out that DNA could be used as a new medium for information and data storage, Macron said: “With just a few grams of DNA, data equivalent to that of a data center can be stored for long periods with very low energy consumption.” Macron also congratulated the teams involved in the study for this significant scientific advancement.
