Macron: Europe will become a market of harmonization if it does not adapt its strategic autonomy
Antwerp, February 11 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron stated during his speech at the European Industry Summit that Europe must accelerate its strategic autonomy.
French President Emmanuel Macron made a statement regarding the future of the European economy during the European Industry Summit in Antwerp.
Macron said, "At the European Industry Summit in Antwerp, I am sending a clear message: If Europe does not adapt and accelerate its strategic autonomy, it will become a market of harmonization for its competitors."
Arguing that concrete steps need to be taken to prevent this risk, Macron stated, "To prevent this, we must simplify the rules and deepen the single market to unleash the potential of our sector; we must diversify our partnerships to secure our value chains; and we must protect our interests by embracing a true European choice and supporting the 'Made in Europe' approach."
Macron emphasized the need to focus on future technologies and concluded his statement with this call: "And most importantly: Let's make large investments together in the sectors that will define the power of tomorrow - quantum, artificial intelligence, green technologies, and defense."
