Commenting on the Parliament's decision and its global impact, Metsola said: "Europe is strengthening its partnership with Mexico. The European Parliament has approved two major agreements that will deepen political cooperation on both sides of the Atlantic and open the way for new opportunities in trade, investment, and employment."
Referring to the future of trade relations with Mexico, Metsola stated: "As Mexico is a strategic trading partner in Latin America, these agreements will lead to stronger and more resilient economic ties."
Thanking the parliamentarians who contributed to the approval process, Metsola said: "We thank the rapporteurs, Javi Lopez and Borja Gimenez Larraz, for their work in securing the approval of these agreements."
