As of August 4, the number of trips made by foreigners through border checkpoints in Shenzhen, China, exceeded 5 million. The milestone was reached 58 days earlier than in 2025.

According to data from the Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, the number of trips made by foreigners through Shenzhen's border checkpoints this year exceeded 5 million as of August 4. Among them, the number of foreigners entering visa-free increased by 47.5 percent compared with the same period last year. Visa-free foreign arrivals accounted for 50.9 percent of all foreign arrivals.

As the countdown begins for the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Informal Meeting, passenger traffic at Shenzhen's border checkpoints continues to increase. As of 6:00 p.m. on August 9, the number of foreign nationals from APEC member economies entering or leaving China through Shenzhen's border checkpoints was recorded at 3.501 million. This accounted for 67.3 percent of all foreign entries and exits through Shenzhen and represented a 23.76 percent increase from the previous year.
