Operation conducted in Bulgaria’s Montana and Lom regions
Sofia, March 26 (Hibya) - Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry announced that during public order and security operations conducted in the Montana and Lom regions, a total of 18 crimes were solved in various areas, including election-related crimes, drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and theft, and numerous suspects were detained.
Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry shared details of the operations carried out to protect citizens’ political rights and ensure public order.
According to the statements, during the operation criminal evidence was seized across a wide range, from narcotic substances to illegally stored smuggled timber.
During a search of the home of a 22-year-old individual in Montana’s Kosharnik district, a notebook containing names and money amounts was seized.
In addition, a pistol without a serial number was found on a property in the village of Erden. In Chiprovtsi, a 28-year-old offender who stole food products from a commercial business was caught, and part of the stolen goods was returned. As part of efforts against economic crimes, 53 counterfeit branded products were identified in a shop in Vladimirovo.
In raids carried out in the town of Lom, a 52-year-old suspect and two girls aged 14 and 17 were detained for possession of drugs.
A total of 629 grams of plant material mixed with amphetamine, 257 grams of marijuana and a large quantity of smuggled cigarettes were seized during the operation.
