Palestinian Foreign Ministry issues call to international community
Istanbul, April 17 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on the international community, especially the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, to fulfill their legal and moral obligations.
In a statement, the ministry noted that more than 9,900 Palestinians are currently being held in Israeli prisons under inhumane and degrading conditions.
The ministry reiterated its call to the international community, particularly the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, to fulfill their legal and moral obligations.
“This includes ensuring the protection of Palestinian detainees, demanding an end to the systematic and widespread use of administrative detention, and granting the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) full access to all places of detention,” the statement said.
