Saar: Ukraine’s step in combating antisemitism is important
Jerusalem, April 16 (Hibya) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar emphasized the importance of the legal amendment in his assessment of efforts to combat antisemitism in Ukraine.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar referred to the amendment made to Ukraine’s Criminal Code and assessed the expansion of criminal liability for hatred and discrimination directed against Jews.
In his remarks on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukraine, Saar said: “I commend Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukraine for the amendment to Ukraine’s Criminal Code introducing criminal liability for antisemitic acts.”
Regarding the impact of the amendment, Saar said: “This amendment constitutes an important step in combating hate crimes, especially in the fight against antisemitism.”
