Spain’s Foreign Minister Albares meets with Mauritanian counterpart Merzoug
Madrid, February 7 (Hibya) – Spain’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, met with Mauritania’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Merzoug.
Spain’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, Albares, held a meeting in Madrid with Mauritania’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Merzoug.
Albares noted that the meeting witnessed progress in the friendship and cooperation between Spain and Mauritania, saying: “In 2025, we completed the development of the commitments of our first High-Level Meeting (RAN).”
Emphasizing their regional commitment to stability in the Sahel and to strengthening EU–Mauritania cooperation, Albares added: “Our joint projects are ongoing, and so are our efforts toward a stronger and deeper EU–Mauritania partnership.”
