Sybiha met with EU High Representative Kallas
Munich, 15 February (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that he discussed the peace process with the European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, and how to accelerate it with the support of the United States and the EU.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha said he had a highly productive meeting with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kallas, covering three key topics.
First, they discussed the peace process and how to speed it up with the support of the United States and the EU. “Second, we discussed further strengthening sanctions against Russia. In particular, we focused on the swift adoption of a strong 20th sanctions package, banning maritime services to Russia’s ‘shadow fleet,’ and imposing entry bans on individuals participating in aggression against Ukraine,” he said.
Third, Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine’s EU membership is an important guarantee both for the country and for all of Europe. “Ukraine is ready to complete all necessary steps as soon as possible. I thanked Kallas for her personal efforts and determination, as well as the EU for its support, especially during this difficult winter period,” he stated.
Sybiha added that they also planned the steps to be taken ahead of the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, along with upcoming contacts and events.
