Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto stated that Hungary strongly condemns all acts of violence against Christians in Nigeria and expects Nigerian authorities to take decisive steps to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Szijjarto mentioned that Hungary launched the "Hungary Helps" program in 2017, the world’s first government initiative aimed at supporting persecuted Christians, and has since provided aid to Christian communities in Nigeria multiple times. He added: “We stand in solidarity with all the communities, victims, and families targeted because of their faith; we continue our determination to deliver support to the places that are most in need.”
