Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tajani met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Bucha commemoration ceremony.

Reaffirming the Italian Government’s commitment to Ukraine’s freedom and independence, Tajani said: “The goal must be a just peace and to prevent further massacres of innocent civilians, as happened four years ago in Bucha.”

Tajani stressed that Italy supports Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, adding: “Therefore, we will strengthen our cooperation, including in the fight against corruption, particularly through our Financial Police (Guardia di Finanza).”
