Tajani: We will attend the Gaza Peace Council meeting as observers
Rome, February 17 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced that they will attend the Gaza Peace Council meeting in Washington as observers.
Italian Foreign Minister Tajani stated that the Gaza Peace Plan was established under the auspices of the United Nations, and that the Peace Council, the body tasked with monitoring the implementation of the stabilization process in the region, was likewise created under UN auspices.
Tajani said that Italy, in line with its tradition and its leading role in the Mediterranean region, cannot stand aside and will therefore participate as an observer in the Peace Council meeting in Washington.
In a statement on his social media account, Tajani congratulated Stefano Scarpetta on his appointment as the new Chief Economist of the OECD, saying: “This appointment is a step that will also strengthen Italy within this international economic organization. With the appointment of a competent and respected technical profile like Scarpetta, I am confident that we will make a more qualified contribution to the work of the Organization.”
