Tsahkna: Amendment in Georgia requires donors to obtain government approval
Tallinn, April 17 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that the amendments hastily adopted yesterday in Georgia require donors who want to fund projects supporting society to obtain approval from the government.
Minister Tsahkna emphasized that the changes make it mandatory for donors to seek government approval to fund social support projects.
He added that this situation threatens the independent functioning of civil society and takes Georgia one step further away from Europe.
