Tsahkna: Blind spots on the EU and NATO border are disappearing
Tallinn, August 17 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna provided information about the drone surveillance system that has become operational along the Narva River and assessed the new measures taken regarding border security.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna highlighted the technological steps taken to increase border security, stating that surveillance capacity along the European Union and NATO border has been strengthened.
Announcing the development along the border, Minister Tsahkna said, “Blind spots on the EU and NATO border are disappearing. A new drone surveillance system has become operational along the Narva River.”
Emphasizing the benefits for Estonian border guards, Tsahkna said, “This provides Estonian border guards with much clearer information about drone activity at and near the border.”
Referring to the goals for the coming period, Tsahkna concluded his statement by saying, “The next step is to develop the capability to counter drones both at the border and across Estonia.”
