UK Ministry of Defence: Operations in the Middle East continue
London, April 7 (Hibya) – The UK Ministry of Defence shared updated information on military activities in the Middle East.
The UK Ministry of Defence announced the latest situation regarding operations in the Middle East.
According to the statement, two Merlin Crowsnest helicopters have arrived at their bases in Cyprus. It was noted that the helicopters will provide airborne surveillance and long-range tracking capabilities for maritime, land, and air targets.
The statement also said that the United Kingdom hosted a multinational military planning conference at the Permanent Joint Headquarters to address developments in the Strait of Hormuz. During the night, RAF elements operating in a high-threat area reportedly shot down an Iranian drone that posed a threat to the region.
It was reported that UK Typhoon and F-35 fighter jets continue their defensive missions in the region with support from Voyager refueling aircraft and Royal Navy Merlin and Wildcat helicopters.
