Zakharova: We are ready to increase cooperation with Islamabad in the face of common threats
Moscow, February 10 (Hibya) – A suicide attack at a mosque in Islamabad on February 6 left 32 people dead and 170 injured. Russia condemned the attack and stated its readiness to increase cooperation with Pakistan.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the suicide attack in Islamabad’s mosque on February 6 as “a barbaric act.” Noting that the attack occurred during Friday prayers, Zakharova said, “This act once again demonstrates the inhumane nature of terrorism.”
Zakharova reiterated Russia’s call to unite the international community’s efforts to combat terrorism and stated, “We are ready to increase cooperation with Islamabad in the face of common threats.”
Russia expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. President Vladimir Putin sent condolence messages to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
