Zamir: We are not abandoning the goal of demilitarizing Gaza
Jerusalem, 14 February (Hibya) - Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated that they remain committed to the objective of fully demilitarizing the Gaza Strip.
According to CCTV; in a statement released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir made remarks during his visit to the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
Zamir emphasized that they have not abandoned the war objective of completely demilitarizing Gaza and disarming Hamas.
Accompanied by senior commanders, Zamir instructed troops in the area to intensify clearing operations with a focus on destroying tunnel networks.
Noting that soldiers are deployed along the “Yellow Line,” which defines Israeli-controlled areas under the ceasefire, Zamir stated that while controlling entry and exit to the Gaza Strip, they are also continuing infrastructure clearing activities.
In another statement issued early Friday, the IDF reported that two militants were identified entering a building east of the “Yellow Line” in northern Gaza. The Israeli Air Force targeted the building, and the strike was confirmed.
