Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement that the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out an overnight operation targeting the Novorossiysk naval base, more than 300 kilometers from the front line.

Zelensky said Palianytsia jet-powered drones, Neptune missiles and unmanned maritime systems were used in the operation. He said air defense positions, piers and port infrastructure were targeted and that the strikes had been confirmed.

Thanking personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and intelligence agencies, Zelensky said the operation was carried out with precision and produced successful results.

Zelensky said that as long as Russia's aggression continues, the Russian fleet and the infrastructure supporting it will not be safe. He added that the war must be brought to an end and that all reasonable proposals regarding diplomacy remain on the table.
