Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand made a statement regarding her country's support for Ukraine.

Anand said: “Canada stands firmly with Ukrainians as they defend their sovereignty and work toward a just and lasting peace.”

Noting that Canada's support also includes pressing for the return of Ukrainian children taken by Russia, the release of civilians unlawfully detained and the return of prisoners of war, Anand said: “Our support also includes pressing for the return of Ukrainian children, unlawfully detained civilians and prisoners of war taken by Russia.”

Regarding the meeting to be held in Toronto, Anand said: “Tomorrow in Toronto, Canada will join Norway and Ukraine to bring countries together around this urgent effort.”
